West Ottawa Board of Trade Expanding!

Over the past months there has been a great deal of time dedicated to considering the potential for a merger of the Greater Nepean Chamber of Commerce (GNCC) and the West Ottawa Board of Trade (WOBT). On June 24th, another important step was taken.

This important decision needed support from the membership of both organizations. On June 17th at a WOBT Special Meeting our membership voted overwhelmingly in support of the merger. On the morning of June 24th, the GNCC held a similar vote at their Annual General Meeting, and their membership also provided the leadership with a strong mandate and authority to move forward.

This is a historic moment in the future of both organizations, and we are excited for the potential of our expanding West Ottawa Board of Trade, that will now serve the communities of Nepean, Kanata, Goulbourn and West Carleton.

The leadership will now start the detailed work of bringing the two organizations together and you will see regular updates over the coming months as we transition towards a target date of October 1, 2014.
